Using the dictionary

You can read the dictionary without creating an account. Favorites, saved lettering settings, and meaning-check acknowledgements are stored in localStorage on your device and browser. They do not sync between devices. You can remove them through the collection and lettering controls or by clearing this site’s browser data.

Quiz answers and body-placement adjustments stay in the current page. Artist-consultation notes are included in a file only when you choose to download it; the site does not upload those notes. These contents are not sent as analytics event parameters.

If you select your own body photo, the preview processes it in your browser. The site does not upload the photo, save it in browser storage, or send its contents to analytics. Reloading the page removes the selected photo from the preview.

02

Analytics and hosting

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand page visits and use of features, including quiz completion, saving a kanji, and downloads. Google may process identifiers, browser and device information, page URLs, and cookies under its own policies. We do not attach quiz answers, consultation notes, or the contents of your collection to analytics events.

Turn off this site’s Google Analytics measurement in this browser · Turn measurement back on. This preference uses localStorage. Disabling measurement does not remove previously collected information or necessarily prevent Google’s script from loading.

Cloudflare hosts the site and processes connection information, such as IP addresses and request information, to deliver and protect it. Provider retention depends on their services and settings. Google Privacy Policy · Cloudflare Privacy Policy.

Pinterest publishing integration

We are preparing an owner-only integration to publish our own kanji illustrations, English explanations, readings, and dictionary links to the site owner’s Pinterest board. Visitors do not need to connect a Pinterest account. The integration does not request Pinterest passwords or session cookies.

Authorization will use Pinterest’s OAuth permission screen. The local development helper keeps temporary authorization credentials only in process memory and discards them when stopped. It does not publish Pins. Persistent token storage and unattended publishing are not enabled at this stage.

The planned permissions cover reading public boards and Pins and creating public Pins. We do not need access to private boards, private messages, contacts, or advertising data. Publishing records may include our public Pin IDs, links, and statuses to prevent duplicates. Credentials must never be placed in public pages, images, URLs, or logs.

The account owner can revoke the app in Pinterest’s account settings. To request removal of integration records, contact the site owner below. Revoking access does not automatically delete Pins that were already published. Pinterest Privacy Policy.

04

Contact and requests

The feature-request form prepares a message in your current browser tab. It does not submit or save your answers, or send their contents as analytics parameters. Personal name consultations and other human-provided services are no longer offered. The former name-enquiry pages do not collect a name or provide a consultation form or message link. Page visits remain subject to the analytics preferences described above.

Contact the site owner through @kanji.tattoo.kanjiart on Instagram with privacy questions or requests concerning the site’s integration records. Include the relevant public page or Pin URL where possible. Do not send passwords, access tokens, or other credentials.

For information held by Google, Cloudflare, or Pinterest, you can also use the privacy controls and request channels provided by those services.
